Or do those in whose hearts is a disease think that Allah will not bring forth their spite? 29 If We willed, We would show them to you and you would recognize them by their marks. But you will surely know them by their twisted speech. Allah knows your deeds. 30 We shall certainly test you until We know those of you who truly strive and remain steadfast, and will ascertain about you. 31 Those who reject Allah, hinder (men) from the Path of Allah, and resist the Messenger, after Guidance has been clearly shown to them, will not injure Allah in the least, but He will make their deeds of no effect. 32 Believers, obey Allah and obey the Messenger and do not cause your works to be nullified. 33 ۞ surely those who reject the truth and bar others from the path of God, then die as deniers of the truth, will not be granted forgiveness by God. 34 So do not weaken and call for peace while you are superior; and Allah is with you and will never deprive you of [the reward of] your deeds. 35 The worldly life is just a sport and pastime; and if you accept faith and be pious, He will bestow your rewards to you, and not at all ask you for your wealth. 36 If He were to ask you for all of them, and press you, ye would covetously withhold, and He would bring out all your ill-feeling. 37 Behold, [O believers,] it is you who are called upon to spend freely in God's cause: but [even] among you are such as turn out to be niggardly! And yet, he who acts niggardly [in God's cause] is but niggardly towards his own self: for God is indeed self-sufficient, whereas you stand in need [of Him]; and if you turn away [from Him,] He will cause other people to take your place, and they will not be the likes of you! 38
