Victory (Al-Fatt-h)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Truly, We have granted you a clear victory 1 so that God may forgive you your past and future sins and complete His favour to you and guide you to a straight path, 2 And that Allah may help you with strong help. 3 It is He who sent down tranquillity into the hearts of the believers that they would increase in faith along with their [present] faith. And to Allah belong the soldiers of the heavens and the earth, and ever is Allah Knowing and Wise. 4 He hath ordained war in order that He may cause the believing men and the believing women enter Gardens whereunder rivers flow, as abiders therein, and that He may expiate from them their misdeeds. And that is with Allah ever an achievement mighty. 5 And [that] He may punish the hypocrite men and hypocrite women, and the polytheist men and polytheist women - those who assume about Allah an assumption of evil nature. Upon them is a misfortune of evil nature; and Allah has become angry with them and has cursed them and prepared for them Hell, and evil it is as a destination. 6 Allah's are the hosts of the heavens and the earth, and Allah is ever Mighty, Wise. 7 Verily, We have sent you (O Muhammad SAW) as a witness, as a bearer of glad tidings, and as a warner. 8 That ye may believe in Allah and His apostle, and may assist Him and honour Him, and may hallow Him at dawn and evening. 9 Those who swear allegiance to you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), do indeed in fact swear allegiance to Allah; Allah's Hand* of Power is above their hands; so whoever breaches his oath, has breached his own greater promise; and whoever fulfils the covenant he has with Allah – so very soon Allah will bestow upon him a great reward. (Used as a metaphor.) 10
