We created man -- We know the promptings of his soul, and are closer to him than his jugular vein -- 16 (Remember!) that the two receivers (recording angels) receive (each human being after he or she has attained the age of puberty), one sitting on the right and one on the left (to note his or her actions). 17 The human being will certainly experience the agony of death 18 Lo, the agony of death has indeed come with the Truth. That is what you had sought to avoid. 19 And the Trumpet shall be blown; that is the Day of the Threat. 20 And every person will come forth along with an (angel) to drive (him), and an (angel) to bear witness. 21 (It will be said:) "Thou wast heedless of this; now have We removed thy veil, and sharp is thy sight this Day!" 22 And (unto the evil-doer) his comrade saith: This is that which I have ready (as testimony). 23 [Allah will say], "Throw into Hell every obstinate disbeliever, 24 [every] withholder of good [and] sinful aggressor [and] fomentor of distrust [between man and man - everyone] 25 Who set up with Allah another god. So cast him ye twain into the torment severe. 26 ۞ His comrade saith: Our Lord! I did not cause him to rebel, but he was (himself) far gone in error. 27 He will say: Do not quarrel in My presence, and indeed I gave you the threatening beforehand: 28 My Word is not changed; and never do I inflict the least wrong upon My servants.” 29
