We indeed created man; and We know what his soul whispers within him, and We are nearer to him than the jugular vein. 16 When the two Receivers receive (him), seated on the right hand and on the left, 17 whatever phrase he utters, an observer is present. 18 Lo, the agony of death has indeed come with the Truth. That is what you had sought to avoid. 19 And the Trumpet was blown; “This is the Day of the promised punishment.” 20 And every soul shall come, and with it a driver and a witness. 21 Certainly you were heedless of it, but now We have removed from you your veil, so your sight today is sharp. 22 And his accompanying angel said, “This is the record of your deeds, available with me.” 23 'Cast, you twain, into Gehenna every froward unbeliever, 24 "Every obstructor of good, transgressor, and the sceptic, 25 "Who set up another ilah (god) with Allah, then (both of you) cast him in the severe torment." 26 ۞ and his associate [Satan] will say, "Lord, I did not make him transgress, he had already gone far astray himself." 27 Allah will say: wrangle not in My presence, and I had already proferred unto you the threat. 28 The Sentence that comes from Me cannot be changed, and I am not unjust (to the least) to the slaves." 29
