We indeed created man; and We know what his soul whispers within him, and We are nearer to him than the jugular vein. 16 Moreover, there are two scribes, one each sitting on the right and the left, recording everything. 17 He utters not a word but there is by him a watcher at hand. 18 Lo, the agony of death has indeed come with the Truth. That is what you had sought to avoid. 19 And the Horn will be blown. That is the Day of [carrying out] the threat. 20 Everyone has come, each attended by one who will drive him on, and another who will bear witness. 21 [It will be said], "You were certainly in unmindfulness of this, and We have removed from you your cover, so your sight, this Day, is sharp." 22 And one part of him will say: "This it is that has been ever-present with me!" 23 It will be said to the angels, “Both of you fling every excessive ungrateful, stubborn person into hell.” 24 "Every obstructor of good, transgressor, and the sceptic, 25 and has set up another deity with Allah. Hurl him into the grievous torment.” 26 ۞ His companion will say: Our Lord! I did not lead him into inordinacy but he himself was in a great error. 27 Allah will say: wrangle not in My presence, and I had already proferred unto you the threat. 28 The word will not be changed with Me, and never will I be unjust to the servants." 29
