Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 which carry clouds laden with water, 2 Then by oath of those which move with ease. 3 and the partitioners, 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 And lo! the judgment will indeed befall. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 surely, you are in different sayings, 8 though only those who are averse to the Truth will turn away from (believing in it). 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 who are heedless in the immersion. 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 (It is) the day when they will be tormented at the Fire, 13 (And it will be said unto them): Taste your torment (which ye inflicted). This is what ye sought to hasten. 14 Indeed the pious are among Gardens and water springs. 15 receiving what their Lord will give them because before this they were gooddoers. 16 They slept but a little at night, 17 and would pray for forgiveness from their innermost hearts; 18 And in their substance was the right of the beggar and non-beggar. 19 On the earth are signs for those of assured Faith, 20 and also in yourselves. Can you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 So by oath of the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this Qur’an is the Truth, in the same language that you speak. 23
