Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 And those [clouds] carrying a load [of water] 2 And those that glide with ease (upon the sea) 3 Then those (angels who) distribute blessings by Our command; 4 Indeed, what you are promised is true. 5 And verily the Requital is surely to befall. 6 And by oath of the decorated heaven. 7 Verily, [O men,] you are deeply at variance as to what to believe: 8 though only those who are averse to the Truth will turn away from (believing in it). 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 Those who have forgotten in a state of intoxication. 11 They ask, “When will be the Day of Judgement?” 12 [It is] the Day they will be tormented over the Fire 13 and will be told, "Suffer the torment which you wanted to experience immediately". 14 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and fountains. 15 joyously receiving what their Lord will have granted them. Verily they did good works before (the coming of this Day): 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 praying at dawn for God's pardon, 18 and in their wealth was a share for whosoever asked and for whosoever was prevented. 19 And in the earth are signs for those who are certain. 20 And also in your own selves. Behold ye not? 21 And in heaven is your Sustenance, as (also) that which ye are promised. 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
