Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the dipersing winds that disperse. 1 and those that bear the burden [of the rain], 2 And those [ships] sailing with ease 3 And those that distribute and apportion by Command;- 4 Verily, that which you are promised (i.e. Resurrection in the Hereafter and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds, etc.) is surely true. 5 and, verily, judgment is bound to come! 6 And by oath of the decorated heaven. 7 Indeed, you are in differing speech. 8 Turned aside therefrom (i.e. from Muhammad SAW and the Quran) is he who is turned aside (by the Decree and Preordainment of Allah). 9 Accursed be the conjecturers 10 who are heedless in the immersion. 11 They ask: "When is the Day of Judgement?" -- 12 The day they will be burnt in the Fire, 13 "Taste your trial. This is what you sought to hasten." 14 [But,] behold, the God-conscious will find themselves amid gardens and springs, 15 They shall receive what their Lord will bestow on them. They have done good works in the past, 16 They slept little in the night, 17 And ere the dawning of each day would seek forgiveness, 18 And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). 19 And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure, 20 just as [there are signs thereof] within your own selves: can you not, then, see? 21 In the sky is your provision and that which you are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is certainly the truth. It is as true as your ability to speak. 23
