Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By (the winds) that scatter dust. 1 And the clouds bearing a load. 2 Then by oath of those which move with ease. 3 And those (angels) who distribute (provisions, rain, and other blessings) by (Allah's) Command; 4 that what you are promised is certainly true 5 The Judgement will indeed take place. 6 The heavens webbed-with-tracks is witness 7 Lo! ye, forsooth, are of various opinion (concerning the truth). 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 Destroyed are the falsifiers 10 who are steeped in ignorance and heedlessness. 11 They ask; "When will be the Day of Recompense?" 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (and tested) over the Fire! 13 [And will be told], "Taste your torment. This is that for which you were impatient." 14 The pious ones will live amidst gardens and springs, 15 joyously receiving what their Lord will have granted them. Verily they did good works before (the coming of this Day): 16 They used to sleep only a little during the night. 17 and asked for forgiveness in the early morning. 18 and in their wealth there was a rightful share for him who would ask and for the destitute. 19 In the earth are signs for those having sure faith; 20 And also in your own selves. Behold ye not? 21 In heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth! it is most surely the truth, just as you do speak. 23
