Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 And those who bear the load (of rain), 2 And the ships that glide with ease. 3 And those that distribute and apportion by Command;- 4 Verily, that which you are promised is true indeed, 5 And undoubtedly justice will surely be done. 6 The heavens webbed-with-tracks is witness 7 Indeed, you are in differing speech. 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 Who are in a gulf (of ignorance) neglectful; 11 they who [mockingly] ask, "When is that Day of Judgment to be?" 12 On the Day of Judgment they will be punished by the fire 13 Taste your persecution! this is what you would hasten on. 14 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and fountains. 15 Taking what their Lord gives them; surely they were before that, the doers of good. 16 They slept but a little at night, 17 And in the hour of early dawn, they (were found) praying for Forgiveness; 18 and the beggar and the outcast had a share in their wealth. 19 And on the earth are signs for those who have Faith with certainty, 20 And in yourselves. Then will you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your sustenance and what you are threatened with. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as true as your speech. 23
