Have you heard the story of Abraham's honored guests? 24 When they came to him and said, “Peace”; he answered, “Peace”; and thought, “These people are not familiar.” 25 Then he turned quickly to his household, and brought a fatted calf, 26 He set it before them, saying: 'Will you not eat' 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: Fear not! and gave him tidings of (the birth of) a wise son. 28 So hearing his wife went forth shouting. She struck her face and exclaimed: “A barren old woman am I.” 29 They said: even so saith thine Lord. Verily He! He is the Wise, the Knower. 30 ۞ Abraham asked, "What is your errand, O messengers?" 31 They said, "Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminals 32 to bring down upon them showers of marked lumps of clayy. 33 Marked by thy Lord for (the destruction of) the wanton. 34 So We brought out from therein the believers. 35 We found in it only one household of true believers -- 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 And in Musa: When We sent him to Firon with clear authority. 38 Then he turned away with his court, and said: a magician or a madman. 39 So We seized him and his armies, and threw them into the sea, for he was worthy of blame. 40 And also in Ad, when We loosed against them the withering wind 41 that left nothing it came upon, except that it was ashes. 42 And also in Thamood, when it was said to them, 'Take your enjoyment for a while!' 43 after they had turned with disdain from their Sustainer's commandment - whereupon the thunderbolt of punishment overtook them while they were [helplessly] looking on: 44 They were unable to stand up, nor were they helped. 45 And [thus, too, We destroyed] Noah's people aforetime: for they were iniquitous folk. 46
