Did the news of Ibrahim’s honourable guests reach you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him)? 24 When those [heavenly messengers] came unto him and bade him peace, he answered, "[And upon you be] peace!" - [saying to himself,] "They are strangers." 25 Then he turned quietly to his household, and brought forth a fat [roasted] calf, 26 And placed it before them.. he said, "Will ye not eat?" 27 [And when he saw that the guests would not eat,] he became apprehensive of them; [but] they said, "Fear not" - and gave him the glad tiding of [the birth of] a son who would be endowed with deep knowledge. 28 His wife came out lamenting, striking her forehead, and said: "I, am old and barren woman?" 29 They answered: "Thus has thy Sustainer decreed; and verily, He alone is truly wise, all-knowing!" 30 ۞ (Abraham) said: "And what, O ye Messengers, is your errand (now)?" 31 They replied: 'We are sent to a sinful nation, 32 So as to let loose clods of clay on them 33 Marked by thy Lord for (the destruction of) the wanton. 34 Then We evacuated there from all the believers 35 And We found not within them other than a [single] house of Muslims. 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 And in Musa: When We sent him to Firon with clear authority. 38 and he turned away in [the pride of] his power and said, "A sorcerer [is this Moses,] or a madman!" 39 We therefore seized him and his army and threw them into the sea, while he was blaming himself. 40 And also in Ad, when We loosed against them the withering wind 41 It did not leave aught on which it blew, but it made it like ashes. 42 And in Thamud, when it was said to them, "Enjoy yourselves for a time." 43 In response they rebelled against their Lord’s command, so the thunderbolt seized them whilst they were watching. 44 Then they were unable to rise up, nor could they help themselves. 45 And [We destroyed] the people of Noah before; indeed, they were a people defiantly disobedient. 46
