AND IT IS We who have built the universe with [Our creative] power; and verily, it is We who are steadily expanding it. 47 And the earth, We have made it a wide extent; how well have We then spread (it) out. 48 And We created all things in pairs, so that you may ponder. 49 So flee to Allah. Indeed, I am to you from Him a clear warner. 50 And do not ascribe divinity to aught side by side with God: verily, I am a plain warner to you from Him!" 51 Even thus no apostle came to those before them but they said: "He is a sorcerer or a mad man." 52 Is this the legacy they have passed down from one to the other? In fact, they are a rebellious people. 53 So turn away from them, you shall not be blamed, 54 Keep on reminding them. This benefits the believers. 55 I created the jinn and humankind only that they might worship Me. 56 I do not expect to receive any sustenance from them or that they should feed Me. 57 Surely Allah is the Bestower of all provision, the Lord of all power, the Strong. 58 And verily, for those who do wrong, there is a portion of torment like to the evil portion of torment (which came for) their likes (of old), so let them not ask Me to hasten on! 59 Woe, then, unto those who disbelieve in their Day which they are promised. 60
