In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By oath of (mount) Tur. 1 And the Scripture inscribed 2 In parchment spread open 3 by the House inhabited 4 By the roof elevated. 5 And [by] the sea filled [with fire], 6 surely, the punishment of your Lord is about to come, 7 none can avert that. 8 on the Day when the skies are convulsed, 9 and the mountains shudder and shake. 10 On that Day woe to those who belied 11 Who are in [empty] discourse amusing themselves. 12 The day they are dragged and pushed into Hell, 13 "This is the Fire which you used to deny. 14 “So is this magic, or are you unable to see?” 15 "Burn ye therein: the same is it to you whether ye bear it with patience, or not: Ye but receive the recompense of your (own) deeds." 16 Indeed the pious are in Gardens and peace. 17 rejoicing in all that their Sustainer will have granted them: for their Sustainer will have warded off from them all suffering through the blazing fire. 18 [And they will be told:] "Eat and drink with good cheer as an outcome of what you were wont to do, 19 Reclining on thrones, in rows; and We have wedded them to maidens with gorgeous eyes. 20 We shall unite the believers with those descendants of theirs who followed them in their faith, and shall not deny them any part of the reward for their good deeds. Every person is pledged to what he did. 21 And We shall bestow on them, of fruit and meat, anything they shall desire. 22 and in that [paradise] they shall pass on to one another a cup which will not give rise to empty talk, and neither incite to sin. 23 ۞ Round about them will serve, (devoted) to them, young male servants (handsome) as Pearls well-guarded. 24 And some of them shall advance towards others questioning each other. 25 They will say: "Aforetime, we were not without fear for the sake of our people. 26 But Allah has been gracious to us and He has saved us from the punishment of the hot wind: 27 Verily, we did invoke Him [alone] ere this: [and now He has shown us] that He alone is truly benign, a true dispenser of grace!" 28
