Therefore (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), enlighten, for by the munificence of your Lord, you are neither a soothsayer nor a madman. 29 Or do they say [of you], "A poet for whom we await a misfortune of time?" 30 Tell them: "Keep on expecting, I am expecting with you." 31 Is it that their faculties of understanding urge them to this, or are they but a people transgressing beyond bounds? 32 Do they say: “He has himself fabricated the Qur'an?” No; the truth is that they are altogether averse to believing. 33 Let them produce a phrase like it, if what they say is true! 34 Or were they created by nothing, or were they the creators [of themselves]? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they have no firm Belief. 36 Or do they own the treasures of thy Lord? Or have they been given charge (thereof)? 37 Or have they a ladder, by which they can (climb up to heaven and) listen (to its secrets)? Then let (such a) listener of theirs produce a manifest proof. 38 Or, [if you believe in God, how can you believe that] He has [chosen to have] daughters, whereas you yourselves would have [only] sons? 39 Or do you, [O Muhammad], ask of them a payment, so they are by debt burdened down? 40 Do they have knowledge of the unseen, thus, are able to predict (the future)? 41 Or desire they to outwit? The unbelievers, they are the outwitted. 42 Or have they a god, other than God? Glory be to God, above that which they associate! 43 Even if they saw lumps falling from the sky they would say: 'A massed cloud' 44 Hence, leave them alone until they face that [Judgment] Day of theirs, when they will be stricken with terror: 45 The Day when their guile shall not relieve them a thing, and they shall not be helped. 46 And indeed, for those who have wronged is a punishment before that, but most of them do not know. 47 Wait patiently for the command of your Lord. We are watching over you. Glorify your Lord when you rise during the night 48 And in a part of the night exalt Him and after [the setting of] the stars. 49
