Therefore (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), enlighten, for by the munificence of your Lord, you are neither a soothsayer nor a madman. 29 Or they allege, “He is a poet – we await a calamity of the times to befall him.” 30 Tell them: "Keep on expecting, I am expecting with you." 31 Or, do their intellects order them to do this? Or, are they an insolent people? 32 Or do they say: "He has fabricated it?" In fact, they will never believe. 33 Let them produce a phrase like it, if what they say is true! 34 Or were they created without there being anything, or are they the creators? 35 Did they create the heavens and the earth? No! They have no faith. 36 Or are the Treasures of thy Lord with them, or are they the managers (of affairs)? 37 Or, do they have a ladder on which they listen? Then let any of them that has listened bring a clear authority. 38 Or, [if you believe in God, how can you believe that] He has [chosen to have] daughters, whereas you yourselves would have [only] sons? 39 Or is it that you ask of them any recompense so that they should fear to be weighed down under the burden of debt? 40 Or have they the unseen so that they write (it) down? 41 Or desire they to outwit? The unbelievers, they are the outwitted. 42 Have they, then, any deity other than God? Utterly remote is God, in His limitless glory, from anything to which men may ascribe a share in His divinity! 43 Were they to see a piece of the sky falling (on them), they would (only) say: "Clouds gathered in heaps!" 44 Therefore leave them, until they confront their day, in which they will be stunned. 45 A Day whereon their plotting will avail them not at all, nor will they be succoured. 46 Surely a chastisement awaits the wrong-doers even before the coming of that Day; but most of them do not know. 47 So wait patiently for the Judgement of your Lord -- you are certainly under Our watchful eye. And glorify and celebrate the praises of your Lord when you rise up [from your sleep]. 48 And for part of the night also praise thou Him,- and at the retreat of the stars! 49
