Therefor warn (men, O Muhammad). By the grace of Allah thou art neither soothsayer nor madman. 29 Do they say: "He is a poet for whom we expect an adverse turn of fortune?" 30 Say (O Muhammad SAW to them): "Wait! I am with you, among the waiters!" 31 Enjoin them their understandings to this? or are they a people conumacious? 32 Or do they say: "He himself has composed this [message]"? Nay, but they are not willing to believe! 33 Then let them produce a statement like it, if they should be truthful. 34 Or were they created without there being anything, or are they the creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they are sure of nothing! 36 Or are the Treasures of thy Lord with them, or are they the managers (of affairs)? 37 Or have they a ladder by which they could [ascend to ultimate truths and] listen [to what is beyond the reach of human perception]? Let, then, any of them who have listened [to it] produce a manifest proof [of his knowledge]! 38 What! The daughters for Him, and the sons for you? 39 Do you (Muhammad) ask them for any payment (for your preaching) which they cannot afford? 40 Or [do they think] that the hidden reality [of all that exists] is almost within their grasp, so that [in time] they can write it down? 41 Or do they desire a war? But those who disbelieve shall be the vanquished ones in war. 42 Or do they have a god apart from God? He is too exalted for what they associate with Him! 43 If they should see a segment falling from the sky, they would say: "It is only a massive cloud." 44 Then leave them, till they encounter their day wherein they shall be thunderstruck, 45 A day in which their guile will naught avail them, nor will they be helped. 46 Surely there are other torments besides this for those who are wicked, though most of them do not know. 47 Wait patiently for the command of your Lord. We are watching over you. Glorify your Lord when you rise during the night 48 And in a part of the night exalt Him and after [the setting of] the stars. 49
