The Stars (Al-Najm)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the star when it goes down, (or vanishes). 1 your companion has neither strayed nor is he deluded; 2 And he speaketh not of his own desire. 3 This is only revelation communicated, 4 something that a very powerful one has imparted to him, 5 Lord of power and wisdom. So he acquired poise and balance, 6 being on the higher horizon. 7 Then he drew nigh and came down 8 So the distance between the Spectacle and the beloved was only two arms’ length, or even less. (The Heavenly Journey of Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him – was with body and soul.) 9 And He revealed unto His slave that which He revealed. 10 The (Prophet's) heart lied not (in seeing) what he (Muhammad SAW) saw. 11 Will you then argue with him about what he saw? 12 And verily he saw him yet another time 13 Near the lote-tree of the last boundary. 14 Close to which is the Everlasting Paradise. 15 when there covered the Lote-Tree that which covered; 16 The sight (of Prophet Muhammad SAW) turned not aside (right or left), nor it transgressed beyond (the) limit (ordained for it). 17 For truly did he see, of the Signs of his Lord, the Greatest! 18 So have you considered al-Lat and al-'Uzza? 19 And Manat, the third, the other? 20 What! unto you the males and unto Him the females? 21 That indeed is a division most unfair! 22 They are naught but names which you have named, you and your fathers; Allah has not sent for them any authority. They follow naught but conjecture and the low desires which (their) souls incline to; and certainly the guidance has come to them from their Lord. 23 Does man imagine that it is his due to have all that he might wish for, 24 To God belong the End and the Beginning. 25
