Seest thou one who turns back, 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Has he knowledge of the unseen, so that he sees? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his trust? -- 37 that no bearer of burdens shall be made to bear another's burden; 38 And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives 39 He will certainly see the result of his labor 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 And that to your Lord is your returning; 42 and that He it is Who causes people to laugh and to cry, 43 That it is He Who granteth Death and Life; 44 and that it is He who created pairs, the male and the female, 45 From Nutfah (drops of semen male and female discharges) when it is emitted; 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 and that it is He who gives wealth and riches, 48 And that He is the Lord of the Sirius; 49 It is He who utterly destroyed the ancient tribes of Ad, 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace of them, 51 And before them, the people of Nooh? Indeed they were more unjust and more rebellious than these! 52 and the Subverted City He also overthrew, 53 So that they were covered over by what they were covered over. 54 Then which of thy Lord's bounties disputest thou? 55 This is a warning among the warnings of yore. 56 There hath approached the approaching Hour. 57 None except Allah can avert it. 58 Do ye then wonder at this recital? 59 And you laugh, and do not weep! 60 Will you remain proudly heedless? 61 Prostrate yourselves before God, and worship Him alone! ۩ 62
