Al-Najm 3 of 3
So did you observe him who turned away? 33 and gives so little [of himself for the good of his soul,] and so grudgingly? 34 Is with him the knowledge of the unseen so that he sees? 35 Or, has he not been told of that which is in the Scrolls of Moses 36 And Abraham who paid his debt: 37 That no laden one shall bear another's load, 38 And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives 39 And that his effort will soon be scrutinised? 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 And that to your Lord (Allah) is the End (Return of everything). 42 and that He it is Who causes people to laugh and to cry, 43 It is He who causes death and gives life. 44 and that it is He who creates the two kinds - the male and the female 45 From a seed when lodged (in its place); 46 and that it is for Him to grant the second life, 47 that it is He who gives wealth and possessions; 48 and that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 Thamud, 51 and before them the nation of Noah, they exceeded in evil and were insolent. 52 He plunged the villages 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 About which, then, of thy Sustainer's powers canst thou [still] remain in doubt? 55 This is a warning just like those of former times. 56 The Hour that was to come draws ever nearer. 57 [although] none but God can unveil it.... 58 Do you then find these tidings strange? 59 And you laugh at it and weep not, 60 While you are proudly sporting? 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
