HAST THOU, then, ever considered him who turns away [from remembering Us, and cares for no more than the life of this world,] 33 and gives so little [of himself for the good of his soul,] and so grudgingly? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Has not he been informed of the contents of the Book of Moses 36 And of Ibrahim, who was most obedient? 37 That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 and that (the result of) his striving shall soon be seen, 40 and that he shall then be fully recompensed, 41 that all things in the end shall return to God; 42 And that it is He Who causeth to laugh and causeth to weep. 43 And that it is He (Allah) Who causes death and gives life; 44 That He created pairs, male and female, 45 of a sperm-drop, when it was cast forth, 46 And that on Him is the bringing forth a second time; 47 And that it is He (Allah) Who gives much or a little (or gives wealth and contentment), 48 and that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that He destroyed the first [people of] 'Aad 50 And destroyed the tribe of Thamud, not sparing anyone? 51 And the people of Noah before. Indeed, it was they who were [even] more unjust and oppressing. 52 And the overthrown cities did He overthrow, 53 So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up. 54 So O listener! Which favour of your Lord will you doubt? 55 He who warns you is one of the warners of old. 56 The approaching event has come near. 57 There shall be none besides Allah to remove it. 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 And you laugh and do not weep 60 and divert yourselves all the while? 61 So prostrate yourselves before God and worship him. ۩ 62
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
