(O Prophet), did you see him who turned away (from the Path of Allah), 33 and gives so little [of himself for the good of his soul,] and so grudgingly? 34 Does he have knowledge of the hidden, so he can foresee? 35 Has he not been informed of what is in the Scrolls of Moses, 36 and Abraham, who paid his debt in full? 37 That no laden one shall bear another's load, 38 And that for man shall be naught save that wherefor he endeavoureth. 39 And that his deeds will be seen, 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 and that the final end is unto thy Lord, 42 And that it is He Who causeth to laugh and causeth to weep. 43 And that it is He (Allah) Who causes death and gives life; 44 And that He creates the two mates - the male and female - 45 from an ejaculated drop (of sperm), 46 That the second creation is incumbent on Him; 47 That it is He who makes you rich and contented; 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 that He it is Who destroyed the ancient 'Ad, 50 And Thamud (people). He spared none of them. 51 And the people of Nuh before; surely they were most unjust and inordinate; 52 And the overthrown cities did He overthrow, 53 So that there covered them that which did cover. 54 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 55 This is a Warner, of the (series of) Warners of old! 56 The Imminent is imminent; 57 None except Allah can avert it. 58 Will you, then, wonder at this? 59 And laugh and not weep? 60 While you are proudly sporting? 61 So make obeisance to Allah and serve (Him). ۩ 62
