Have you then seen him who turns his back? 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Does he have any knowledge of the world beyond the ken of sense-perception, and therefore, clearly sees (the Truth)? 35 Or, has he not been informed of what is in the scriptures of Musa? 36 And with Abraham who kept his word: 37 That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another 38 That a man receives but only that for which he strives; 39 and that (the result of) his striving shall soon be seen, 40 whereupon he shall be requited for it with the fullest requital; 41 that all things in the end shall return to God; 42 It is He who causes laughter and weeping. 43 And that it is He who causes death and gives life 44 And that He (Allah) creates the pairs, male and female, 45 from a drop of sperm when it was emitted, 46 And that on Him is the bringing forth a second time; 47 And that He it is Who enriches and gives to hold; 48 And that He it is Who is the Lord of Sirius; 49 that it was He that destroyed ancient Aad 50 And that Thamud! He left not. 51 And the folk of Noah aforetime, Lo! they were more unjust and more rebellious; 52 And He overthrew the Cities of the Plain, 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute? 55 This is a warning among the warnings of yore. 56 There hath approached the approaching Hour. 57 None beside Allah can disclose it. 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 Or do you laugh, and do you not weep 60 while you make merry? 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62
