The Moon (Al-Qamar)
55 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Comet (Al-Taareq) before S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
The Last Day came near, and the moon split apart. 1 Yet if they see a sign they turn away, and they say 'A continuous sorcery!' 2 And they belied, and they followed their lusts; and every affair cometh to a final goal. 3 And certainly some narratives have come to them wherein is prevention-- 4 Perfect wisdom (this Quran), but (the preaching of) warners benefit them not, 5 So leave them, [O Muhammad]. The Day the Caller calls to something forbidding, 6 They will come out from the graves with eyes lowered, as if they were spread locusts. 7 Hastening, with eyes transfixed, towards the Caller!- "Hard is this Day!", the Unbelievers will say. 8 ۞ The people of Noah, who lived before them, had also rejected (Our guidance). They rejected Our servant and said, "He is an insane person so let us drive him away". 9 So he invoked his Lord, "Indeed, I am overpowered, so help." 10 And so We caused the gates of heaven to open with water pouring down in torrents, 11 We caused the earth to burst forth with springs so that the waters could come together for a predestined purpose. 12 And We bore him on that which was made of planks and nails 13 She floats under our eyes (and care): a recompense to one who had been rejected (with scorn)! 14 And certainly We left it as a sign, but is there anyone who 15 How (great) was then My punishment and My warning! 16 Now We have made the Koran easy for Remembrance. Is there any that will remember? 17 TO THE TRUTH gave the lie [the tribe of] Ad: and how severe was the suffering which I inflicted when My warnings were disregarded! 18 Behold, We let loose upon them a raging storm wind on a day of bitter misfortune: 19 Carrying men away as though they were trunks of palm-trees uprooted. 20 How (great) was then My punishment and My warning! 21 And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember? 22

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
