Thamud denied the warning 23 For they said; Is it a mortal man, alone among us, that we are to follow? Then indeed we should fall into error and madness. 24 How is it that he has received guidance? In fact, he is the most untruthfull and arrogant person". 25 [And God said:] "On the morrow they will come to know who the boastful liar is! 26 Surely We are going to send the she-camel as a trial for them; therefore watch them and have patience. 27 Let them know that the water should be divided between them and the she-camel, each availing their turn.” 28 Then they called their fellow, and he took the sword and hamstrung her, 29 So how awesome were My chastisement and My warnings! 30 Lo! We sent upon them one Shout, and they became as the dry twigs (rejected by) the builder of a cattle-fold. 31 And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember? 32 The people of Lot rejected Our warnings. 33 We sent against them a violent Tornado with showers of stones, (which destroyed them), except Lut's household: them We delivered by early Dawn,- 34 through Our Mercy. So it is that We recompense the thankful. 35 And assuredly he had warned them of Our grasp, but: they doubted the warnings. 36 They even asked of him his guests for an ill purpose. Then We blinded their eyes (and said): Taste now My punishment after My warnings! 37 And indeed, abiding suffering did befall them early on the morrow: 38 So taste My chastisement and My warning. 39 And in truth We have made the Qur'an easy to remember; but is there any that remembereth? 40
