Al-Qamar 2 of 3
The tribe of Thamud denied the Noble Messengers. 23 They said: 'Are we to follow a mortal who is one of us? Then indeed, we would surely be in error and insane. 24 Has the message been sent down upon him from among us? Rather, he is an insolent liar." 25 Tomorrow shall they know who is the liar, the insolent one. 26 For We will send the she-camel by way of trial for them. So watch them, (O Salih), and possess thyself in patience! 27 And tell them that the water [of the well] is to be divided between them, and that each one should drink in turn." 28 But they called their companion, and he dared and hamstrung [her]. 29 How then were My chastisement and My warnings? 30 We loosed against them one Cry, and they were as the wattles of a pen-builder. 31 Indeed, We have made the Quran easy to learn lessons from. Is there anyone who would receive admonition? 32 The people of Lot cried lies to the warnings. 33 We let loose on all of them a squall of claystones, except for the house of Lot whom We saved at dawn 34 Thus do We recompense the grateful ones. 35 He had warned them of Our assault but they disputed the warnings. 36 They lusted after his guests, so We put out their eyes (and said): "Taste My punishment and My commination." 37 And indeed, abiding suffering did befall them early on the morrow: 38 "So taste ye My Wrath and My Warning." 39 And We have indeed made the Qur’an easy to memorise, so is there one who would remember? 40

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
