The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 who taught the Quran -- 2 He created man 3 and taught him its pronunciation. 4 The sun and the moon run on their fixed courses (exactly) calculated with measured out stages for each (for reckoning, etc.). 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 and heaven -- He raised it up, and set the Balance. 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance. 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 therein fruits, and palm-trees with sheaths, 11 And grain covered with husk, and fragrant flowers. 12 Which of the bounties of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 13 He created the human from clay, like earthenware 14 and has created the jinn from the flame of fire. 15 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 16 The Lord of the Two Easts, the Lord of the Two Wests. 17 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 18 He hath let loose the two seas. 19 Between them is a barrier, which they do not overrun. 20 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 21 Out of them come Pearls and Coral: 22 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 23 His are the lofty ships, that rear aloft on the sea like mountains. 24 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 25
