The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ (Allah) Most Gracious! 1 has taught the Koran. 2 He created man. 3 and has taught him articulate speech. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning. 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 And the sky He hath uplifted; and He hath set the measure, 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 Give just weight and do not skimp the scales. 9 He set down the earth for the creation. 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 Husked grain and scented herb. 12 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created the human from clay, like earthenware 14 and He created the jinn of a smokeless fire. 15 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 16 Lord of the East and Lord of the West. 17 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 18 He has set flowing two seas that appear to meet. 19 and yet there is a barrier between them which they may not overstep. 20 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 23 His are the ships, towering on the sea like mountains. 24 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 25
