The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Most Merciful 1 has taught the Qur'an, 2 He created man. 3 Taught him the mode of expression. 4 The sun and the moon run on their fixed courses (exactly) calculated with measured out stages for each (for reckoning, etc.). 5 the stars and the trees bend in prostration. 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 so that you should not transgress the measure. 8 and weigh with justice, and skimp not in the Balance.) 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 Therein are fruits, date-palms producing sheathed fruit-stalks (enclosing dates). 11 Grain with husk, and fragrant grasses. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He has created man, from dry ringing clay, like the potter"s, 14 and has created the jinn from the flame of fire. 15 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, Lord of the two Wests. 17 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 18 He released the two seas, meeting [side by side]; 19 [yet] between them is a barrier which they may not transgress. 20 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 21 Out of them come Pearls and Coral: 22 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 23 His are the ships, towering on the sea like mountains. 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25
