The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Beneficent (God) 1 has taught the Qur'an, 2 He created man. 3 Taught him the mode of expression. 4 The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed; 5 and the stars and the trees bow themselves; 6 And the heaven He has raised high, and He has set up the Balance. 7 That you not transgress within the balance. 8 And observe the weight with equity, and make not deficient the balance. 9 And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures. 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees with their dates in sheaths, 11 Also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, Lord of the two Wests. 17 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 18 He has made the two seas to flow freely (so that) they meet together: 19 In-between the twain is a barrier which they pass not. 20 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 21 There cometh forth from both of them the pearl and coral-stone. 22 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 23 His are the ships with elevated sails upon the sea like mountains. 24 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 25
