The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The Most Merciful 1 who taught the Quran -- 2 He has created man: 3 [And] taught him eloquence. 4 The sun and moon rotate in a predestined orbit. 5 And the herbs (or stars) and the trees both prostrate. 6 He raised the heaven on high and set the scale. 7 That ye exceed not the measure, 8 So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance. 9 It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures: 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 Grain with husk, and fragrant grasses. 12 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created the human being from clay like that used for pottery 14 And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 16 (He is) Lord of the two Easts and Lord of the two Wests: 17 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 18 He released the two seas, meeting [side by side]; 19 and between them is a barrier which they do not overpass. 20 Which of the wonders of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 21 Out of these two [bodies of water] come forth pearls, both great and small. 22 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 23 And His are the ships reared aloft in the sea like mountains. 24 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 25
