Then the people of Lot rejected the messengers. 160 When their brother Lout (Lot) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? 161 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the lord of the Worlds. 164 What! do you come to the males from among the creatures 165 leaving aside those whom Allah has created for you as your mates. Nay, you are a people that has transgressed all limits." 166 They said: If thou cease not, O Lot, thou wilt soon be of the outcast. 167 He said, "I certainly hate what you practice. 168 My Lord! deliver me and my household from that which they work. 169 So We saved him and his whole family 170 save an old woman among those that tarried; 171 then We destroyed the others. 172 and We sent upon them a rain, an evil rain that fell on those who had been warned. 173 Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers. 174 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 175
