The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ The Beneficent 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 He created man, 3 He has imparted unto him articulate thought and speech. 4 The sun and moon revolve to a computation; 5 And the stars and trees prostrate. 6 And the sky He hath uplifted; and He hath set the measure, 7 That ye should not trespass in respect of the balance. 8 but weigh things equitably and skimp not in the balance. 9 And the earth! He hath lain it out for the creatures. 10 In which are fruits, and covered dates. 11 and grain in the blade, and fragrant herbs. 12 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 13 He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. 14 And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 16 He is Lord of the two easts and Lord of the two wests. 17 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together: 19 There is a barrier between them. They encroach not (one upon the other). 20 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 21 There cometh forth from both of them the pearl and coral-stone. 22 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 23 Also, His are the ships that run, raised up like mountains upon the sea. 24 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 25
