The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Most Merciful 1 Bestowed the Qur'an, 2 He created man 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and moon revolve to a computation; 5 And the herbs and the trees do obeisance. 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 Do not transgress the scales. 8 Give just weight and do not skimp the scales. 9 He has laid out the earth for His creatures. 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees with their dates in sheaths, 11 Also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 13 He has created man, from dry ringing clay, like the potter"s, 14 And the jinn did He create of smokeless fire. 15 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 16 Lord of the Two Easts, Lord of the Two Wests, 17 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 18 He has set flowing two seas that appear to meet. 19 Between them is a barrier which none of them can transgress. 20 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 21 Out of these two [bodies of water] come forth pearls, both great and small. 22 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 23 By His command, the ships with raised masts sail on the sea like mountains. 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25
