The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 Hath taught the Qur'an. 2 He created the human 3 and has taught him articulate speech. 4 The sun and the moon are in a reckoning. 5 the stars and the trees bend in prostration. 6 He raised the heavens and set up everything in balance, 7 That you may not be inordinate in respect of the measure. 8 weigh, therefore, [your deeds] with equity, and cut not the measure short! 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 with fruit thereon, and palm trees with sheathed clusters [of dates,] 11 Husked grain and scented herb. 12 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man of a clay like the potter's, 14 And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 16 Lord of both the Easts, and Lord of both the Wests! 17 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 18 He has made the two oceans meet each other, 19 and yet there is a barrier between them which they may not overstep. 20 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 21 Pearls and corals come forth from both of them. 22 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 23 And His are the ships reared aloft in the sea like mountains. 24 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 25
