The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ (Allah) Most Gracious! 1 who taught the Quran -- 2 He created man 3 Has taught him the knowledge of the past and the future. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning. 5 And the herbs and the trees do obeisance. 6 And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance 7 That ye exceed not the measure, 8 And observe correct measure, weigh with justice, and not cheat the balance. 9 It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures: 10 There are fruits of all kinds on it, and date-palms with their clusters sheathed, 11 grain with its husk and aromatic herbs. 12 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man of a clay like the potter's, 14 and He created the jinn from smokeless fire. 15 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 16 He is the Lord of the East and West through all seasons. 17 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 18 He has let forth the two seas, they meet together, 19 between them a barrier they do not overpass. 20 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 21 There cometh forth from both of them the pearl and coral-stone. 22 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 23 And to Him belong the ships [with sails] elevated in the sea like mountains. 24 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 25

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. (5) وقف المجاذبة أو المعانقة حيث يجب الوقف في أي من موضعين قريبين ولكن ليس كلاهما، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة تظهر في أحد الموقعين باحتمال النصف للنصف.
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
