The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ THE MOST GRACIOUS 1 has taught the Koran. 2 He created man, 3 and taught him its pronunciation. 4 The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation, 5 And the herbs and the trees do obeisance. 6 He raised the sky and set the Balance 7 so that you [too, O men,] might never transgress the measure [of what is right]: 8 and weigh with justice, and skimp not in the Balance.) 9 And the earth He has put for the creatures. 10 Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates] 11 And grain covered with husk, and fragrant flowers. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He created man of fermented clay dried tinkling hard like earthen ware, 14 and He created the jinns from a flame of fire. 15 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 16 (He is) Lord of the two Easts and Lord of the two Wests: 17 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has set the two oceans in motion, converging together. 19 between them a barrier they do not overpass. 20 Which of the wonders of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 21 From these seas come forth pearls and coral. 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 By His command, the ships with raised masts sail on the sea like mountains. 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25
