The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ (Allah) Most Gracious! 1 It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. 2 Created man, 3 and He taught him speech. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning. 5 [before Him] prostrate themselves the stars and the trees. 6 and heaven -- He raised it up, and set the Balance. 7 that you may not transgress in the balance, 8 weigh, therefore, [your deeds] with equity, and cut not the measure short! 9 And He has set up the earth for all beings. 10 Therein are fruits, date-palms producing sheathed fruit-stalks (enclosing dates). 11 And grain covered with husk, and fragrant flowers. 12 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 13 He has created man out of sounding clay, like pottery, 14 and He created the jinn from smokeless fire. 15 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 16 Lord of both the Easts, and Lord of both the Wests! 17 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 18 He hath loosed the two seas. They meet. 19 between them a barrier they do not overpass. 20 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 21 There cometh forth from both of them the pearl and coral-stone. 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 Also, His are the ships that run, raised up like mountains upon the sea. 24 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 25
