The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the inevitable event takes place, 1 There is, at its occurrence, no denial. 2 Abasing (some), exalting (others); 3 This will happen when the earth is shaken, shaken 4 And the hills are ground to powder 5 And become dust dispersing. 6 On that day, you (mankind) will be divided into three groups: 7 Thus, there shall be such as will have attained to what is right: oh, how [happy] will be they who have attained to what is right! 8 And those on the left hand; how miserable shall those on the left hand be! 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 They shall be near-stationed (to their Lord), 11 In Gardens of Delight. 12 a host of the ancients 13 And a few of those (foremost) will be from the later time (generations). 14 (They will be) on Thrones encrusted (with gold and precious stones), 15 Reclining therein face to face. 16 Round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness), 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of pure drink; 18 Wherefrom they get no aching of the head nor any madness, 19 And fruit that they prefer 20 And the flesh of fowls, any that they may desire. 21 And companions with big beautiful eyes 22 like hidden pearls, 23 as reward for their deeds. 24 They will not hear any useless speech in it, or any sin. 25 (Naught) but the saying: Peace, (and again) Peace. 26 The Companions of the Right 27 (They will be) among Lote-trees without thorns, 28 And [banana] trees layered [with fruit] 29 In shade long-extended, 30 And water poured out 31 and fruits abounding 32 Neither ending nor forbidden. 33 and raised couches 34 and the noble maidens that We have created 35 And have made them virgins. 36 Loving, equals in age, 37 for the Companions of the Right 38
