The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the inevitable event takes place, 1 There is no belying its coming to pass-- 2 Abasing (one party), exalting (the other), 3 When the earth is shaken with a shock 4 and the mountains crumbled 5 So that they become dust seattered. 6 [on that Day,] then, shall you be [divided into] three kinds. 7 So those on the Right Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Records in their right hands), Who will be those on the Right Hand? (As a respect for them, because they will enter Paradise). 8 The people of the left hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their left hands. How miserable they will be! 9 And the foremost in the race, the foremost in the race: 10 They shall be the nearest to God. 11 In gardens of tranquility; 12 A large group from the earlier generations. 13 and how few of the later folk) 14 (They will be) on thrones woven with gold and precious stones, 15 reclining on them facing each other; 16 There will circulate among them young boys made eternal 17 carrying goblets and ewers and cups filled with the purest wine, 18 a drink by which their minds will not be clouded nor will it cause drunkenness; 19 they will also go about them with the fruits of which they may choose, 20 and the meat of any bird that they may desire; 21 And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes, 22 Like unto Pearls well-guarded. 23 A Reward for the deeds of their past (life). 24 There they shall hear no idle talk nor any sinful speech. 25 Only the saying, "Peace! Peace". 26 And those on the Right Hand, Who will be those on the Right Hand? 27 They will be in (the shade) of thornless lote 28 and acacias flower-clad, 29 and amid the extended shade 30 and outpoured waters, 31 and abundant fruits, 32 never-ending and unforbidden. 33 And couches raised up. 34 We have created (their Companions) of special creation. 35 And made them virginal, 36 Loving, of equal age. 37 For the companions of the right [who are] 38
