The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the Event inevitable cometh to pass, 1 Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming. 2 (it will) abase (some) and exalt (others). 3 When the earth is shaken with a shock 4 The mountains bruised and crushed, 5 So they will become like fine dust, scattered in a shaft of light. 6 And ye are classes three. 7 So those on the Right Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Records in their right hands), Who will be those on the Right Hand? (As a respect for them, because they will enter Paradise). 8 Companions of the Left, what are the Companions of the Left? 9 And the forerunners, the forerunners - 10 those are they brought near (to their Lord) 11 In gardens of delight; 12 a good many of those of olden times, 13 And a few of those (foremost) will be from the later time (generations). 14 on lavish couches 15 Reclining thereon facing each other. 16 Immortal youths will serve them 17 carrying goblets and ewers and cups filled with the purest wine, 18 that will neither make the head throb, nor intoxicate, 19 and with fruit of any kind that they may choose, 20 Bird meats that they relish, 21 And pure, beautiful ones, 22 Like pearls safely hidden. 23 shall be their recompense for their deeds. 24 They will not hear any unnecessary or sinful talk 25 All talk will be sound and upright. 26 The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 27 mid thornless lote-trees 28 Bananatrees, piled 29 and shade extended, 30 Gushing water, 31 And fruit in plenty 32 That will neither finish, nor ever be stopped. 33 And [upon] beds raised high. 34 Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation 35 having resurrected them as virgins, 36 Loving, of equal age. 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
