The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the event befalleth - 1 there will be nought that could give the lie to its having come to pass, 2 Abasing (one party), exalting (the other), 3 When the earth is shaken with convulsion 4 And the mountains will be crushed, blown to bits. 5 and become a dust, scattered, 6 You will become three categories: 7 Those on the Right -- how blessed are those on the Right! 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 These will be those nearest to Allah. 11 in the beautiful Paradise. 12 A number of the earlier peoples, 13 and a few from later times. 14 On couches wrought of gold, 15 Reclining face to face. 16 They will be served by immortal boys, 17 With cups, and jugs, and a glass from the flowing wine, 18 that will neither make the head throb, nor intoxicate, 19 and such fruits as they shall choose, 20 And with flesh of fowls from that which they desire. 21 And (there will be) Houris (fair females) with wide, lovely eyes (as wives for the pious), 22 The likenesses of pearls well-protected, 23 [And this will be] a reward for what they did [in life]. 24 They will not hear any useless speech in it, or any sin. 25 only the words of peace and tranquillity. 26 And the fellows on the right hand; how be happy shall the fellows on the right hand be! 27 They will be in (the shade) of thornless lote 28 and acacias flower-clad, 29 And shade extended 30 Gushing water, 31 and fruits abounding 32 unfailing, unforbidden, 33 And raised couches; 34 Lo! We have created them a (new) creation 35 having resurrected them as virgins, 36 Loving (their husbands only), equal in age. 37 For the companions of the right [who are] 38
