The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Event inevitable cometh to pass, 1 – and then there will be no one to deny its occurrence – 2 It will bring low (some); (and others) it will exalt; 3 When the earth is shaken up convulsively, 4 And the mountains will be crushed, blown to bits. 5 So that they will become floating dust particles. 6 And you will become divided into three categories. 7 Those on the Right -- how blessed are those on the Right! 8 And the People on the Left: and how miserable will be the People on the Left! 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 They shall be the nearest to God. 11 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise). 12 A multitude of those of old 13 And a few from those of later times. 14 (They will be) on Thrones encrusted (with gold and precious stones), 15 reclining upon them, set face to face, 16 (and there) shall wait on them immortal youths 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of pure drink; 18 neither causing headaches, nor intoxication; 19 along with fruits of their choice; 20 And the flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 And there will be fair ones large eyed. 22 Like pearls within their shells, 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 There hear they no vain speaking nor recrimination 25 but only the saying: 'Peace, Peace' 26 And the fellows on the right hand; how be happy shall the fellows on the right hand be! 27 They shall recline on high amidst lote trees without thorns 28 and acacias flower-clad, 29 Lengthened shadows, 30 And in perpetually flowing water. 31 and abundant fruits, 32 That will neither finish, nor ever be stopped. 33 And raised couches; 34 Verily, We have created them (maidens) of special creation. 35 And made them virgin - pure (and undefiled), - 36 Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age, 37 for those on the Right, 38
