Al-Waaqe'ah 2 of 3
A multitude of those of old 39 And a multitude of those of later time. 40 Those on the Left: how unfortunate are those on the Left! 41 In fierce hot wind and boiling water, 42 And the shade of black smoke. 43 [shadows] neither cooling nor soothing. 44 Verily they have been heretofore affluent. 45 And were persisting in great sin (joining partners in worship along with Allah, committing murders and other crimes, etc.) 46 And they used to say, “When we are dead and have turned into dust and bones, will we surely be raised again?” 47 “And also our forefathers?” 48 (Muhammad), say, "All the ancient and later generations 49 Are going to be assembled on the appointed time of a Day Known. 50 Then verily ye, O ye erring, denying people. 51 Most surely eat of a tree of Zaqqoom, 52 and you shall fill therewith your bellies 53 "And drink Boiling Water on top of it: 54 drink it as the most insatiably thirsty camels drink!" 55 This shall be their entertainment on the Day of Requital. 56 We! it is We Who created you: wherefore confess ye not? 57 Have ye seen that which ye emit? 58 Do you create a child out of it, or are We its creators? 59 It is We Who ordained death upon you and We are not to be frustrated. 60 That We may substitute others like unto you and produce you into that which ye know not. 61 And [since] you are indeed aware of the [miracle of your] coming into being in the first instance - why, then, do you not bethink yourselves [of Us]? 62 Have you thought about what crops you plant? 63 Is it you who cultivate it, or is it We Who develop it? 64 If We willed, surely We would make it chaff, so that ye would be left wondering. 65 Lo! we are laden with debt! 66 nay; we have been undone!” 67 So what is your opinion regarding the water that you drink? 68 Is it you that send it down from the clouds, or are We the senders? 69 [It comes down sweet - but] were it Our will, We could make it burningly salty and bitter: why, then, do you not give thanks [unto Us]? 70 So what is your opinion regarding the fire which you kindle? 71 Is it you who produced its tree, or are We the producer? 72 We Ourselves made it for a reminder, and a boon to the desert-dwellers. 73 So glorify your Lord, the most supreme. 74

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
