These (people of the right hand) consist of many from the ancient 39 and a throng of the later folk. 40 As for the People on the Left: how miserable will be the People on the Left! 41 mid burning winds and boiling waters 42 And a shade of black smoke, 43 Neither cool nor beneficial. 44 and before that they lived at ease, 45 and would persist in heinous sinning, 46 ever saying, 'What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be raised up? 47 And also our forefathers? 48 Say: "Verily, those of olden times and those of later times 49 will indeed be gathered together at an appointed time on a Day known [only to God]: 50 Then shall you, O you who err and call it a lie! 51 shall eat the fruit of the tree of Zaqqum, 52 "Then will ye fill your insides therewith, 53 "And drink Boiling Water on top of it: 54 "So you will drink (that) like thirsty camels!" 55 Such will be their welcome on Judgment Day! 56 We created you. Will ye then admit the truth? 57 Have you ever considered that [seed] which you emit? 58 Do you create it, or We are its creator? 59 It is We Who have ordained death among you, and We have not been beaten – 60 from changing the nature of your existence and bringing you into being [anew] in a manner [as yet] unknown to you. 61 And you have indeed learnt about the first creation, so why do you not ponder? 62 Have you thought about what crops you plant? 63 Cause it ye to grow, or are We the Grower? 64 Did We will, We would make it broken orts, and you would remain bitterly jesting -- 65 Verily we are undone. 66 Rather, we have been deprived." 67 Tell Me! The water that you drink. 68 Is it you who brought it down from the clouds or is it We Who brought it down? 69 If We had so pleased, We could have made it bitter. So why would you not give thanks? 70 Have you thought about the fire that you kindle. 71 Did you make its tree grow or was it We Who made it grow? 72 We have made it a reminder and provision for the travelers, 73 Therefore glorify the name of your Lord, the Great. 74
