Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Blessed be He in whose hand is the Kingdom -- He is powerful over everything -- 1 He who has created death as well as life, so that He might put you to a test [and thus show] which of you is best in conduct, and [make you realize that] He alone is almighty, truly forgiving. 2 The One Who created the seven heavens atop each other; do you see any discrepancy in the creation of the Most Gracious? Therefore lift your gaze – do you see any cracks? 3 Then turn your vision again, and then again; in the end your vision will come back to you, worn out and frustrated. 4 And verily We have beautified the world's heaven with lamps, and We have made them missiles for the devils, and for them We have prepared the doom of flame. 5 And for those who disbelieve in their Lord will be the torment of Hell; and a hapless destination! 6 When they will be cast thereinto, they will hear thereof a braying even as it boileth up, 7 nearly bursting apart out of rage. Every time a host is cast therein, its keepers will ask them: 'Did no one come to warn you' 8 They will say, "Of course, a warner did come to us, but we belied him and we said, 'God has revealed nothing; you are in gross error.'" 9 They will further say: "Had we but listened or used our intelligence, we should not (now) be among the Companions of the Blazing Fire!" 10 Thus will they come to realize their sins: but [by that time,] remote will have become all good from those who are destined for the blazing flame. 11 Indeed, those who fear their Lord unseen will have forgiveness and great reward. 12 And whether you keep your talk secret or disclose it, verily, He is the All-Knower of what is in the breasts (of men). 13 Should He not know what He created? And He is the Subtile, the Aware. 14
