Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Blessed is He in whose hand is the Kingdom: He has power over all things; 1 Who created death and life in order to try you to see who of you are best of deed. He is all-mighty and forgiving, 2 [And] who created seven heavens in layers. You do not see in the creation of the Most Merciful any inconsistency. So return [your] vision [to the sky]; do you see any breaks? 3 Yea, turn thy vision [upon it] again and yet again: [and every time] thy vision will fall back upon thee, dazzled and truly defeated. 4 And indeed, We have adorned the skies nearest to the earth with lights, and have made them the object of futile guesses for the evil ones [from among men]: and for them have We readied suffering through a blazing flame 5 And for those who disbelieve in their Lord (Allah) is the torment of Hell, and worst indeed is that destination. 6 When they are cast into it, they will hear it roar and raging 7 Almost bursting for fury. Whenever a group is cast into it, its keeper shall ask them: Did there not come to you a warner? 8 They say, 'Yes indeed, a warner came to us; but we cried lies, saying, "God has not sent down anything; you are only in great error. 9 They will say: 'If we had only listened and understood, we would not be among the inmates of the Blazing Fire.'” 10 Then they will confess their sin. So, away with the dwellers of the blazing Fire. 11 As for those who fear their Lord in the unseen will have forgiveness and a rich reward. 12 And keep your opinion secret or proclaim it, lo! He is Knower of all that is in the breasts (of men). 13 Can He who has created not know (His creation)? He is all-penetrating, all-aware. 14
