Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ HALLOWED be He in whose hand all dominion rests, since He has the power to will anything: 1 He created death and life so that He might test you, and find out which of you is best in conduct. He is the Mighty, the Most Forgiving One. 2 Who hath created seven heavens in harmony. Thou (Muhammad) canst see no fault in the Beneficent One's creation; then look again: Canst thou see any rifts? 3 Again turn thy vision a second time: (thy) vision will come back to thee dull and discomfited, in a state worn out. 4 And We have certainly beautified the nearest heaven with stars and have made [from] them what is thrown at the devils and have prepared for them the punishment of the Blaze. 5 And for those who disbelieve in their Lord there is the doom of hell, a hapless journey's end! 6 When they are cast into it they shall hear it sighing, while it boils 7 as though bursting with rage. Each time a group is cast into it, its keepers will ask them, "Did no warner come to you?" 8 They will say: "Yes indeed; a warner did come to us, but we belied him and said: 'Allah never sent down anything (of revelation), you are only in great error.'" 9 They will say: 'If we had only listened and understood, we would not be among the inmates of the Blazing Fire.'” 10 So they shall confess their sin. Far away they be, the fellows of the Blaze! 11 Verily those who dread their Lord unseen, theirs shall be forgiveness and a great hire. 12 And keep your opinion secret or proclaim it, lo! He is Knower of all that is in the breasts (of men). 13 How could He who created not know His own creation, when He alone is the Most Subtle in His wisdom and the All Aware? 14
