Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ OH, THE LAYING-BARE of the truth! 1 How awesome that laying-bare of the truth! 2 And what will make thee realise what the Sure Reality is? 3 Samood and Ad called the striking calamity a lie. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the awful cry! 5 And the 'Ad were destroyed by the furious cold blast of roaring wind 6 He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! 7 Canst thou (O Muhammad) see any remnant of them? 8 Pharaoh and those before him and the people of the overturned habitations all engaged in the same great sin. 9 And disobeyed (each) the messenger of their Lord; so He punished them with an abundant Penalty. 10 Verily! When the water rose beyond its limits [Nuh's (Noah) Flood], We carried you (mankind) in the floating [ship that was constructed by Nuh (Noah)]. 11 That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it. 12 With the first blast of sound from the trumpet, 13 And the earth and the mountains will be lifted up and crushed with a single crush. 14 On that Day will come what is to come. 15 and heaven shall be split, for upon that day it shall be very frail, 16 and will turn frail, losing all force. The angels will be around the heavens and on that day eight of them will carry the Throne of your Lord above all the creatures. 17 On that day you shall be exposed to view-- no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 So whoever is given his book in his right hand he will say, “Take, read my account!” 19 "I did really understand that my Account would (One Day) reach me!" 20 So he shall be in a life, well-pleasing. 21 In a lofty Garden 22 The fruits of which are near at hand: 23 [They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you put forth in the days past." 24 But, he who is given his book in his left hand will say: 'Woe to me, would that my book had not been given to me! 25 and that we would never knew what our records contained. 26 I wish death had put an end to me. 27 My wealth hath not availed me, 28 "My power has perished from me!"... 29 Seize him and fetter him, 30 And then expose him to hell-fire 31 "Further, make him march in a chain, whereof the length is seventy cubits! 32 Lo! He used not to believe in Allah the Tremendous, 33 And urged not on the feeding of the wretched. 34 Therefore he has not here today a true friend, 35 Nor food other than suppuration (filth) 36 which none but the sinners eat!" 37
