Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ THE CONCRETE REALITY. 1 What is the Indubitable? 2 And what could make thee conceive what that laying-bare of the truth will be? 3 THE LIE gave [the tribes of] Thamud and 'Ad to [all tidings of] that sudden calamity! 4 But the Thamud,- they were destroyed by a terrible Storm of thunder and lightning! 5 and as for the 'Ad - they were destroyed by a storm wind furiously raging, 6 Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees. 7 Do you see any remnants of them? 8 Then came the Pharaoh, and those before him whose habitations were overthrown while they were committing crimes. 9 And they disobeyed the Apostle of their Lord, so He punished them with a vehement punishment. 10 [And] behold: when the waters [of Noah's flood] burst beyond all limits, it was We who caused you to be borne [to safety] in that floating ark, 11 That We might make it a memorial for you, and that remembering ears (that heard the story) might remember. 12 With the first blast of sound from the trumpet, 13 and the earth and the mountains are carried aloft and are crushed to bits at one stroke, 14 On that Day shall the (Great) Event come to pass. 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for on that Day it will be so frail. 16 The angels will appear by its sides and, on that Day, eight [angels] will bear your Lord's throne above them. 17 That Day shall ye be brought to Judgment: not an act of yours that ye hide will be hidden. 18 Then he that will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Ah here! Read ye my Record! 19 Surely I knew that I should have to meet my reckoning. 20 And so he will find himself in a happy state of life, 21 in a lofty garden, 22 its clusters nigh to gather. 23 Such people will be told, "Eat and drink with pleasure as the reward for what you did in the past". 24 But as for him who is given his record in his left hand, he will say: Oh, would that I had not been given my book 25 Nor that I knew my reckoning! 26 How I wish my death had ended all. 27 Of no use was even my wealth. 28 “All my power has vanished.” 29 (It will be said): 'Take him and bind him. 30 Then in the Scorch roast him 31 then in a chain seventy arm's lengths long insert him. 32 they did not believe in the great God, 33 And urged not on the feeding of the wretched. 34 On this day, they will have no friends 35 and no food except pus 36 "Which none do eat but those in sin." 37
